Except Hotel New Hampshire. It is the ONLY John Irving book I have never finished, because it was so so bad. It's almost like it's a parody of a John Irving novel (Whores! Bears! New England!). Incest. Rape. Bear suits. And all presented with this weird, cutesy, smirky attitude, like it was a John Hughes teen comedy, or something. I think I saw this with my dad, when I was little. He used to take me to movies that were meant for grownups... Serious, middlebrow stuff like "Kramer vs. Kramer". I'm pretty sure he got more than he bargained for with this baby, though!
