Perhaps that's too harsh. He really just made me tired. Waltz was definitely good. You can tell because he spoke english sometimes (ahhh, sarcasm). I liked how he played his character not as a typical dedicated Nazi, but more like a sociopath detective who loves finding out people's secrets and then fucking with them. He just happened to be a Nazi. I then stuck into Harry Potter. Way too long. You are right, some good moments and actors. Pitt was as good as you would expect but the stand outs were Christoph Waltz and Mélanie Laurent. Now I wonder if they only seemed good because of the subtitles? Kind of like how over-emoting works in silent movies.
