Melanie Laurent is a tasty treat. I thought she was a real find.

What is it about European actresses that makes them so effortlessly charismatic and classy.

Maybe it's the smoking....

We thought about seeing "A Perfect Getaway" afterwards, but Tarantino drained all desire to see another movie out of me like some kind of douchey psychic vampire who eats souls through film projectors. Perhaps that's too harsh. He really just made me tired.

Waltz was definitely good. You can tell because he spoke english sometimes (ahhh, sarcasm). I liked how he played his character not as a typical dedicated Nazi, but more like a sociopath detective who loves finding out people's secrets and then fucking with them. He just happened to be a Nazi.

When I came out of Inglourious Basterds and all I could think was "well, that was a movie." I then stuck into Harry Potter.

Way too long. You are right, some good moments and actors. Pitt was as good as you would expect but the stand outs were Christoph Waltz and Mélanie Laurent. Now I wonder if they only seemed good because of the subtitles? Kind of like how over-emoting works in silent movies.
