Podcast #13 – The Leading Lady

A few weeks ago, the Film Pigs recorded what could only be considered their finest, wittiest, most insightful, and tightest podcast ever. Then, GarageBand crashed and ate the whole thing. After a respectful mourning period, the Pigs regrouped and did it again – because they are amazing professionals. Who have a lot of free time.

This episode, the Pigs explore the role of The Leading Lady, expose cutting-edge Movie News, send another film professional to Movie Jail, engage in an exciting and educational round of Trivia, and more!

This time, on a very special episode of The Film Pigs Podcast:

  • 0:00:00 – Intro
  • 0:00:59 – Movie News
  • 0:05:18 – Host Stephen Falk presents this episode’s theme: The Leading Lady
  • 0:18:58 – Todd Anderson presents a case to send someone to Movie Jail
  • 0:26:26 – The Nic Cage Memorial Bizarre Line Reading
  • 0:29:25 – Tonn Slingdog’s Straight To DVD Corner
  • 0:34:04 – Trivia!

  1. Hey all, the MP3 for this podcast has been exported as stereo 128kbps to improve the sound quality from the previous mono 64kbps exports. This should up files sizes to around 55MB for an hour’s running time. Let us know if you like the new format or prefer the old.

  2. I’ve been really enjoying these. I’ve probably said that before, but it merits saying again.

I’ve listened to some of the older DVD commentaries recently, and Falk has become a lot less venomous as his fortunes have improved. This is a good thing. He’s still mean-funny, but in the older commentaries his bitterness can get kinda scary.

I hesitate to mention it, because I don’t want to make him self-conscious and stop doing it, but sometimes Skelton laughs just like a cartoon bumpkin guy in suspenders and a straw hat. “Aw-hyuck-hyuck-hyuck!” It’s wonderful. I wish I could laugh like that, just once in my life.

        1. I am from Indiana and I can confirm this. It’s the official state laugh.

And I was laughing like that while listening to this episode. It’s a good one. Maybe you should do them ALL twice!
