According to BBC News:
Actor Jackie Earle Haley has signed up to play iconic killer Freddy Krueger in a remake of the 1984 A Nightmare on Elm Street film series, reports have said.
Industry magazine The Hollywood Reporter said the Watchmen actor has landed the starring role, which was originally played by Robert Englund.
If this is true, then this is a remake I would actually want to see. Didn’t care for Watchmen as a movie, but Haley was awesome as Rorschach. And I can actually see him as Freddy.

He’s a good choice.
The original film isn’t sacred to me, so I don’t get up in arms about them remaking it. When they go after films that are already perfect (like TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE and HALLOWEEN) then I get the shits over it.
