This is truly an epic episode of The Bacon on The Film Pigs Podcast. It took Todd nearly 20 minutes to conceive of this ultimate showdown. And the nice thing is, we recorded this episode in his office, where there was a multitude of DVDs to reference for accuracy. Which we did once, because we are lazy and don’t like to reach for things on high shelves.
The guys talk about this week’s releases, last week’s Total Recall, and teach an important lesson on screenwriting.
Last time we posted a video about a Batman movie, Warner Brothers had it yanked. So, try, try again we must! Steve and Todd but not Steve weigh in on the nearly three-hour comic book movie. Let me repeat that last part: NEARLY THREE HOUR COMIC BOOK MOVIE! Also, enjoy some incredibly blurry camera work!
A fan asked us via a passionate email to go see the new Ghost Rider film, he felt it was perfect synergy given our love of Nic Cage line readings. And while there were two very bizarre and lovely moments of Cagey acting, there was another eighty-eight minutes of movie around them. Needless to say, Steve Falk got very, very fussy.
Even though I think it’s a terrible idea, I don’t bash Dan for wanting to do another Ghostbusters movie, but this:
Aykroyd hinted that Bill Murray may not return as Peter Venkman, and that the character could be played by a different actor, a la Jack Ryan. (via Empire)
This is obviously a cry for help. At this point, Murray’s willingness to do Ghostbusters 3 is probably the best indicator of whether or not Ghostbusters 3 should actually be made. We can only hope Dan’s friends and family intervene.
The Film Pigs start summer off with a happy bang when they see Fast Five! The Rock sweats, the Diesel burns, the Tyrese looks great, and the Walker…I don’t know, talks sometimes. Also, the Pigs discuss what they’ve seen lately and get all up in your listicle with a very, very special guest! (She’s crazy sexy, so check it out one time, won’t you?)
